Flat on fire in Idonia Street, Deptford
FIREFIGHTERS are currently at the scene of a fourth floor flat on fire in Deptford.
The London Fire Brigade were called at around 3.57pm to reports of a flat on fire on Idonia Street.
Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters from Greenwich, East Greenwich, Lee Green, Lewisham and surrounding fire stations are in attendance.
Fifteen 999 calls were received by the brigade about the incident.
Station Manager Lisa Hicks said: “Fire crews worked quickly to bring this fire under control. Around 50 people have evacuated the building. Thankfully no one was injured.”
The fire was under control by 4.40pm and the cause is under investigation.
