FIREFIGHTERS are currently at the scene of a tower block blaze in Thamesmead.
Six fire engines and around 35 firefighters are tackling a fire on the 11th floor of the block of flats in Erebus Drive.
The London Fire Brigade was called at around 11.01am. Crews from Woolwich, Plumstead, Erith, Bexley and East Greenwich are in attendance.
A five room flat has been affected by the fire and the building has been evacuated.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said:"We were called just after 11am to reports of a fire at an address near Pier Way.
"We have an ambulance crew and members of our hazardous area response team on standby at the scene."
