FORMER pupils have sent flowers and cards to help a former headteacher celebrate her 105th birthday.
Olive Kielty retired as the headteacher at a convent school more than 40 years ago but the women, who are now in their 80s, still keep in touch.
The poetry enthusiast also enjoyed cake in her room at Wickham Court Nursing Home, Layhams Road, West Wickham.
She was born in Battersea and started teaching at Mile End's Guardian Angels school at 21.
Miss Kielty, who never married, had to teach every school subject and her favourite was music.
She said: "I am just lucky to have had good health for so long and have a good attitude towards life. That is the secret."
