A LEWISHAM man has appeared in court on terror charges.
Atilla Ahmet, of Lewisham, faced eight charges, including encouraging the murder of people not of the Muslim faith, and publishing a statement encouraging the public to commit acts of terrorism.
He appeared, along with five others, before City of Westminster magistrates this morning and was remanded in custody.
The 42-year-old will reappear at the Old Bailey on September 29.
The court appearance follows raids in London on September 1.
It comes after Musa Ahmet, aged 47, appeared at City Of Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with having information useful to a person committing an act of terrorism. He is also charged with possessing a flare launcher.
He was arrested at his home in Prince John Road, Eltham, on September 1.
He, and three others who he appeared alongside, were remanded in custody to appear again on September 19.
