THE scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz may have wished he had a brain, but gardeners in West Wickham had the brains to make super scarecrows.
Members of the West Wickham Allotment Society made special scarecrows - including one that looked like wizard wonder Harry Potter - for their open day.
Around 150 people attended the open day, which saw a panel of children judging the scarecrows to pick their favourite.
Society member Stanley Roach, of Goodheart Way, West Wickham, said: “The aim of the open day was to let people know the allotments are here and encourage people to join in.”
The 70-year-old added: “I have had an allotment here for around four years and it is a very interesting thing to do.”
