BRITAIN’S first independent female boxing promoter has organised a night of bouts to raise money for charity.
Nina Cranstoun, 32, who grew up in Shortlands, has arranged a night of boxing at The Grand in Clapham on Sunday (August 21) to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Miss Cranstoun, who attended Holy Trinity College in Bromley, specialises in getting young people off the streets and into boxing, and these fighters will be on the card at The Grand.
She said: “We are a boxing nation and if I can bring five boys off the streets and into gyms then that’s five boys I have taken down a new respectable path.
“If we can install this into communities, I believe this can help with our gang problem today.”
