AN OCCUPATIONAL therapist is appealing for donations to fund her trip to Malaysia to volunteer at a care home for children with special needs.

Phoebe Abrahams, 25, is planning to travel to Sabha in Malaysia for three months next summer to work at a residential centre for youngsters with learning disabilities.

Miss Abrahams, of Vincent Square, Biggin Hill, needs £3,000 for the trip, which will cover the cost of accommodation, a donation to the care home, a visa and local 24-hour support.

Miss Abrahams, who works at a special needs school in south London, said: “The centre only receives therapy input when therapists volunteer there and they have not had occupational therapy input before.

“So my placement there has the potential to open up new opportunities for the children, centre and future volunteers.”
