A HEALTH minister has visited a clubhouse to launch a review into the benefits of work.
Lord Philip Hunt and national director for health and work Dame Carol Black chose Horizon House for the launch because it supports people who want to return to work after suffering mental health problems.
Work done at the clubhouse, Langdon Road, Bromley, backs up the review's findings being in work is good for your physical and mental health, boosting self-esteem and quality of life.
Bromley's lead consultant psychiatrist Dr Geraldine Strathdee said: "Returning to work is one of the most important parts of helping people recover from mental illness and maintaining their wellbeing.
"Staff and members at Horizon House help people identify job opportunities and provide support to help people remain in work and off benefits."
