EBBSFLEET International Station was unveiled today, putting north Kent firmly on the map.
The station, off Southfleet Road, Swanscombe, is set to be used by more than one million travellers per year.
It is part of the £5.2 billion development linking the region with central London and the continent.

It should be up and running by September next year with trains heading for international destinations including Brussels and Paris.
The high-speed train company Eurostar will be running seven services to Paris and five to Brussels each day.
There will also be direct train links to London Waterloo which should be running by 2009.
Dartford Council leader Councillor Jeremy Kite has welcomed Eurostar's announcement that half of its international rail services will stop at Ebbsfleet.
He said: "The decision by Eurostar to focus so much attention on this area of Kent shows how important the station is geographically.
"I think that Ebbsfleet and Eurostar will be very welcome additions to our borough."
