STAFF at a Roman villa dating back to 140 AD are inviting youngsters to Caesar piece of fun this summer.

Crofton Roman Villa in Orpington is welcoming children aged five to 11 to listen to tales of ancient heroes and make their own Roman style clay pots this August.

The stories take place from 10.30am to 2.30pm every Wednesday, while the pot making is from 10.30am to 2.30pm every Friday, and youngsters can just turn up on the day.

Villa assistant secretary Amy Moffat says children can “find out all about how the Romans made pots, and learn about all the different kinds of Roman pots”.

The remains of ten rooms can be seen on the site of the villa in Crofton Road. For more information, call 020 8460 1442.
