AT NEWS Shopper we like to think our stories are artistic, but one woman has literally turned newspapers into works of art.

Theresa Paton has used rolled up newspapers to create sculptures for her new exhibition, Cut to the Chase, at Ripley Art Centre in Sundridge Avenue, Sundridge Park.

The 49-year-old from Knockholt combines the newspapers with wood varnish and glue to create her sculptures, which include a dragon.

She said: “Inspired by the forest, the work explores the innate relationship of man to the earth.

“I have endeavoured to express an ephemeral quality, reflecting on the fragility of nature, encompassing life and death with this ghostly mirage.”
