POLICE in north Kent are appealing for information after a cash machine was stolen in Meopham.
Officers were called to Wrotham Road just before 3am on Saturday (July 23) following reports of the theft.
A Jeep Cherokee and a Toyota 4-Runner were used during the theft, when a standalone cash machine inside a shop was bundled into the Jeep.
The vehicles then drove towards Gravesend, and were found later that day in an outbuilding near a field in Nurstead Church Lane, Meopham.
The stolen cash machine is also believed to have been located in Headcorn.
Detective Inspector Ian Dampier said: βA number of local residents have already contacted us with information, which we are extremely grateful for and we would encourage anyone who witnessed the incident take place to contact Kent Police as a priority.
βAn investigation is underway and crime scene investigators have attended the scene of the incident as well as the location where the vehicles were discovered. We will also be viewing CCTV from the area and have a number of leads to follow.β
