FIVE members of a gang have been found guilty of beating and stripping a 16-year-old girl naked in a park before posting the photos on Facebook.

Sian Roberts, 24, of Churchdown Road, Bromley, Daniello Johnson, 19, of no fixed abode, and Antonio Williams, 19, of London Road, Thornton Heath, were convicted of false imprisonment, at Inner London Crown Court yesterday.

Victoria Beckford, 27, of Hawke Road, Gypsy Hill, and Siobhan Vaughan 29, of Menlo Gardens, Croydon, were both found guilty of two counts of false imprisonment.

Jurors also found Beckford and Vaughan guilty of making incident photographs of a child.

The nude photographs were taken in Crystal Palace Park and added to the victim’s Facebook profile page –where they were spotted by friends and family who contacted the girl's mother.

The court heard during the ordeal on August 14 last year the girl had been taken hostage by the gang as punishment for an unpaid debt of £100.

The victim, who cannot be named because of her age, was locked in a cupboard, punched and beaten with a leather belt before being stripped.

Jonathan Polnay, prosecuting, said the case concerned “a stupid teenage dispute over some money” that “got way out of hand”.

The girl was lured to Ferndale Road, Brixton, believing a friend was going to remove braids from her hair.

But Williams and Johnson, who tied her wrists with a dressing gown cord and then demanded her phone and PIN number, were waiting for her.

Johnson locked the girl in a cupboard for more than an hour, during which he slid the blade of a knife through the gap between the doors.

Roberts then arrived with Beckford and dragged her to a car and drove her around south London, collecting Vaughan and a 17-year-old boy from West Norwood.

With dusk approaching, the group headed to a poorly lit corner of Crystal Palace Park, where Beckford ordered the girl to strip, telling her: “This should teach you a lesson.”

The girl was offered the alternative punishment of immersing her hands in boiling water.

Mr Polnay said: “She chose to put her hands in boiling water but Miss Beckford decided that this was too cruel and demanded that she removed all her clothes.”

After the conviction Police Constable, Andrew Birks, from Lambeth police CID said: "This is a horrific case where the victim was subjected to hours of abuse, assault and humiliation by five defendants who when arrested told police a string of lies to try and conceal their involvement.

"Through the bravery of that child, the jury has been able to recognise the truth behind the events of that day and to reach the verdicts that they have.

"The events themselves left a traumatic mark on her life, made worse by having to appear in court and relive them because these defendants continued their trail of deceit."
