Electrical explosion causes power failure in Dartford
AN EXPLOSION in an electrical junction box blew off a manhole cover and caused a loss of power to homes in a Dartford street last night (July 20).
Firefighters were called after the electrical supply cable which feeds the houses in Brentlands Drive had shorted out at about 8.20pm.
They made sure the scene was safe and that the electrical junction box did not catch fire.
Engineers from UK Power Networks came to repair the fault at around 10.30pm.
