DETECTIVES will be in Greenwich today appealing for witnesses a week after Genson Courtney was murdered.
Officers were called to Banning Street shortly after 10.50pm last Sunday (July 3) following reports of gunshots.
Ex-gangster Dave Courtney’s 23-year-old stepson was found in a black Volkswagen Golf suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3.43am.
A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.
An incident room has been opened under Detective Chief Inspector Mark Gower from Operation Trident.
DCI Gower said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact the police.
"I would like to reassure anyone concerned about contacting the police that Trident has great expertise in protecting witnesses and there are a huge variety of measures that can be put in place to protect you."
Anyone with any information should call the incident room on 020 8733 4211 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
There have been no arrests as yet.
