ELIGIBLE voters should fill in a form or risk prosecution.
Bromley residents need to register where they will be living on October 15, including those who will be 18 before November 30 next year.
People who do not fill in the electoral registration form could lose their vote, risk a £1,000 fine and a criminal record if prosecuted.
They could also have difficulty in getting credit because most companies look at the register before making any decisions.
Bromley Council's head of electoral services Carol Ling said: "It is a legal requirement to provide the information and last year 97.01 per cent of forms were returned.
"We have not prosecuted offenders but we may consider doing so.
"We wish to avoid such measures by getting householders to respond."
