A FETE at a care home for children with special needs raised £140 for equipment.

Almost 150 people at Sunday's event enjoyed games, stalls, a tombola, a raffle, a bouncy castle and a barbecue.

Rainbow Lodge, Invicta Road, Dartford, cares for children with learning or physical difficulties and complex needs aged five to 18. It also provides advice for families.

Leigh Foster, who is a care assistant at the home, said: "Every penny counts and the money will go to buy new equipment for the children and maybe take them out for the day.

The 44-year-old, of Ayelands, New Ash Green, said: "Thanks to those who came, we are all very grateful, especially the children as they will soon have some new toys to play with."
