NEW members have been flocking to the new £1.5m Orpington Library since it opened last month.
The library registered 539 members in the first 10 days after it opened its doors on May 16, which is around 10 times more than the same period last year.
More than 20,000 visitors passed through the doors of the new library in The Walnuts in the town centre in the two weeks following its move from The Priory in Church Hill.
Orpington MP Jo Johnson said: "I am thrilled to see that residents of all ages have been flocking to the new library.
“It is a highly impressive facility, and I would encourage anyone who hasn't yet paid a visit to do so.”
