A FREE dog microchipping event is taking place in Lewisham.

Lewisham Council, in conjunction with the south east London branch of the RSPCA, and Battersea Dogs & Cats home, will be providing the service for dogs owned by Lewisham residents.

Microchipping is a safe, permanent form of ID that can help reunite owners with their dogs should they become lost or stolen.

The event will take place on June 14 and 15 between 12.30pm 5.30pm in the Safer Lewisham partnership bus, outside the main entrance to Lewisham shopping centre.

Go along with your dog for pet tag engraving, microchipping, and training and behaviour advice.

Anyone wishing to attend would need to take with them proof of ownership and a muzzle if they have one.

Dogs must be kept on a leads at all times and no booking is required.
