A MUM is raising money for a charity which sent her daughter to Disneyland before she died from leukaemia.
Clare White, 38, has organised a summer fete at Giggs Hill Church in St Paul’s Cray on June 18 to raise money for Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The charity, which grants wishes for seriously ill children, paid for Mrs White’s daughter Sophie Hunt to go to Disneyland in Florida two years before she died aged 10 in April 2001.
Mum-of-seven Mrs White, of St Paul’s Wood Hill, St Paul’s Cray, said: “Sophie would have been 21 on June 16, and if she was here I would be spoiling her rotten.
“So I’m doing something to help Starlight spoil other children rotten, to show my thanks to them for everything they did for Sophie.”
