A STAR in the making hopes a trip to the USA will end up with her going on tour with a booty-shaking diva.

Only two months after graduating from Greenwich Musical Theatre Academy, in Crooms Hill, Ella Boucher could already be on the road to fame.

The 20-year-old has been chosen from 1,000 other young hopefuls to appear in new Channel 4 show, Chancers.

The music talent contest, which airs in November, will see Miss Boucher and seven other UK performers undergo intensive training in Houston from some of the music industry's biggest names.

During the month-long training session all eight will try to convince judges, including UK chart-topper Lemar and Destiny's Child mastermind Matthew Knowles, they should be the one to win the show.

The star pupil will be rewarded with a recording contract and the chance to tour with Destiny's Child lead singer, Beyonce.

Speaking to News Shopper before flying out to begin the project Miss Boucher, from Hackney, said: "When they announced I had been chosen at the audition earlier this month I couldn't believe it, I still can't take it in.

"I'm nervous but can't wait to get there now. To work with people like Matthew Knowles will be amazing."

And thinking of the prize, she added: "Winning would change my life but most of all I'm looking forward to the whole experience and seeing how much I can develop in a month."

Miss Boucher studied a two-year performing arts course at the music academy in Greenwich.

Greenwich Musical Theatre Academy's director Hilary Strong said: "For the past two years Ella has been working with a team of West End vocal coaches, choreographers and musical directors and it's really paid off now.

"We'll all be glued to our TV screens when the show starts."
