A 60-YEAR-OLD man who was hit by a car in Bromley yesterday has died of his injuries.

The pedestrian was taken to Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, by air ambulance last night (May 31) after the incident in Widmore Road at around 6pm.

A Met Police spokesman says he died in hospital.

He has yet to be formally identified but he is believed to come from the Bromley area.

A post-mortem examination is set to take place in due course.

The 55-year-old driver of the car, a blue Vauxhall Astra, stopped at the scene.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and has been bailed to return to a south London police station on September 2.
