A STUDENT who died following an horrific gang attack will have his 21st birthday marked next week.

Johnson Ndjoli died last year, after eight months in a coma following an attack in New Cross which saw him runover, shot and stabbed.

Organisers want to use the event next Saturday (May 21), called One Life, to spread a peaceful message whilst celebrating what would have been Johnson’s 21st birthday.

Taking place at the 2000 community centre in Grove Street, Deptford, from 6pm to 8pm, it will feature music and spoken word.

It is run by the Johnson Ndjoli Foundation, set up by the victim’s father Antoine to support young people.

Foundation member and former classmate Macey McMullen said: “The event is to show the community and other individuals who are going through this it doesn’t always have to remain a traumatic experience.”

Tickets are £7.50 and available by calling 07949 809 420. A limited number are available on the door from 5.30pm.
