The team from Bexley in Bloom have been encouraging pubs and restaurants to enter the competition for many years.

Judges have visited other boroughs giving recognition to venues across London and want to persuade the hard working landlords, owners and staff of bars and eateries in Bexley that they are as good, if not better, than the other sites they have been to.

The competition is free to enter and could lead to an award in the prestigious London in Bloom and London Garden Society awards.

During July, judges will visit your property and award marks for visual impact, horticultural content and maintenance to displays that can be viewed from the street.

A spokesperson for Bexley in Bllom said: “Floral displays can help present your business and encourage passersby to enter.

“The award ceremony will also provide a platform to show case your premises.”

To take part, collect an entry form from Hall Place Nursery, Danson Park Playground Kiosk, your local library, Ruxley Manor Garden Centre, the Civic Centre or other council offices or you can complete the form online.

For helpful tips and horticultural advice, speak to staff at one of the garden centres or perhaps you could get the local community involved to give you a hand.
