IT was pefect spring weather for strawberries and cream and a tall glass of something refreshing.

And the New Cross Turnpike pub in Bellegrove Road, Welling, did not disappoint as it hosted a fundraiser for the Rob Knox Foundation.

Other attractions included a barbecue, a cider and ale tavern, face painting and a medium performing psychic readings.

To round off the festivities, the pub’s barmen endured a sponsored leg wax.

The event raised cash for the foundation, created by the Sally and Colin Knox in the wake of the murder of their son, Harry Potter actor Rob Knox.

The foundation campaigns against knife and gun crime among young people and also funds a drama school bursary.
