A BALLOT for tickets to this year’s Olympic test events in Greenwich has opened.

Equestrian and modern pentathlon events will take place in Greenwich Park from July 4 to July 10.

Greenwich Council has 1,000 free tickets available for residents to attend the events, before the real thing next year.

The council says it has a further 3,630 tickets for school children, so that at least one class of children from every school and post-16 institution can attend the events.

In order to enter the ballot for the free tickets you must send your name, full address and a telephone number to test-event-tickets@greenwich.gov.uk, or Test Event Tickets, Communication, Greenwich Council, Woolwich, Town Hall, Wellington Street, London, SE18 6PW.

A maximum of two tickets per application is available.

The closing date for applications will be Friday June 3.

Tickets must be collected from Greenwich Council before July 4, with proof of address as a Greenwich resident.
