A BAR manager is made up with the amount of money her club managed to raise during their Help for Heroes fun day.
When dreaming up the event for the Royal British Legion, Ravenswood Crescent, West Wickham, Jacki Ives was hoping to raise a couple of thousand pounds.
But now the bouncy castle has been deflated and every penny has been counted the Legion will be giving the charity for wounded service men and women £6,000.
Ms Ives said: “It is brilliant.
“Everyone is really excited and no one can believe we raised that much money.
“Some members have sons in the army and so we thought the fun day [for Help for Heroes] would be worthwhile.
“I think everyone donated more because it was a cause so close to their hearts.”
