PRIMARY school children taking part in royal wedding week are celebrating after receiving a letter from the Queen.
More than 450 youngsters at Cardwell Primary School, in Frances Street, Woolwich, have spent the last two days making royal wedding mugs and hats as well as learning about the royal family and putting together displays.
The pupils, aged three to 11, have also been preparing for a big party in the school playground today (April 28) with music, an entertainer, food and face painting.
Each child will release a red, white or blue balloon at the end of the day.
Year 5 teacher Anna Sullivan said: βItβs been brilliant. They have been so enthusiastic about it and really looking forward to the big party.β
The school sent examples of their work to the Queen who sent them a letter thanking them for supporting the wedding of William and Kate and congratulating them on their hard work.
