A MOTORIST is facing a bill of at least £370 and six points on his licence after his uninsured pick-up truck was seized by police.

Bromley police officers took the vehicle in Magpie Hall Lane, Bromley Common, after discovering the driver did not have insurance.

The motorist will now have six points added to his licence, be fined £200, and will have to pay at least £150 to get the truck back, as well as a £20 per day storage fee.

PC James Hicks, from the Bromley Common and Keston Safer Neighbourhood Team, says the seizing of the truck will send a message to other uninsured drivers.

He said: "Hopefully this will reinforce the unequivocal message that people driving without a licence or insurance, or with a vehicle that is not roadworthy, will be targeted and their cars or bikes will be seized.”
