POLICE are appealing for help to identify a man who died after being found collapsed on Blackheath.

The deceased man was jogging on the heath at 10.47am on April 19, when members of the public saw him collapse at the junction of Blackheath Common and Pond Road.

Two people tried to resuscitate him and the London Ambulance Service was called. He was taken to Lewisham Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:40am.

The only item found in the man’s possession was a set of four keys.

He was wearing white and blue Brooks trainers, size 10.5, white sports socks, purple running shorts and a black t-shirt.

The man was not wearing any jewellery and did not have any tattoos. There is one scar which police say might be the result of having an appendix removed.

He is described as a white man, with short, brown hair with some grey in it. He is 6ft 4in to 6ft 5in tall, of medium build, and aged between 35 and 45 years old. He had some stubble that was light brown with some grey in it.

A post mortem examination will take place in due course but at this stage his death is not believed to be suspicious.

Anyone who believes they know this man is asked to contact police on 0300 123 1212.
