ORGANISATIONS hoping to run some of Lewisham’s libraries will be represented today (April 12) at a community event.
People living in the borough will have the chance to view the proposals for Crofton Park, Grove Park, New Cross and Sydenham libraries.
They will be joined by council officers at Lewisham Council’s civic suite in Catford from 4pm to 8pm.
Lewisham Council has decided not to run the libraries anymore, along with the Blackheath village building, as part of cost-cutting measures and has invited other organisations to bid to take them over.
Blackheath library will not be represented at the meeting because the council does not own the premises.
