GREENWICH Council is reminding residents of changes to their waste and recycling collection dates over the forthcoming bank holidays.

The Easter, Royal Wedding and Early May Bank Holidays collection dates will be the same as they always are, even if the usual collection day now falls on a bank holiday.

The key date changes to make a note of are the week of the late May Spring Bank Holiday, starting on the Bank Holiday (Monday 30 May).

Collections during this week will now take place on the following day. For example, usual Monday May 30 collections will be on Tuesday May 31, Tuesday 31 collections now on Wednesday June 1 etc. Normal collections will then resume again on Monday June 6.

Councillor Maureen O’Mara, Cabinet Member for Environment and Community Safety said: “Our collection dates have been designed to keep things as simple as possible so people can concentrate on enjoying the holidays and celebrations with their family and friends.

“We would also like to remind residents that although we don’t expect that they will have any unwanted chocolate in need of recycling, in Greenwich they can recycle their Easter Egg packaging, including cardboard, plastics and foil.”
