A SCHOOL has been awarded for the wonders of its teaching by TV science buff Professor Brian Cox.
Sydenham School was awarded the National Specialist Schools and Academies Trust award for the most effective practice in science, technology, engineering and maths education.
They were given their prize at the Big Bang Fair awards by particle physicist Prof Cox, currently hosting hit BBC show Wonders of the Universe.
It was in recognition of a video made by students about the variety of ways the subjects are taught in the school.
School director of specialism Johanna Kambuka said: “It was a national competition so to win was quite a big thing.
“The students were really excited.”
