LECTURERS from the University of Greenwich are going on strike today as part of a nationwide protest against worsening pay and conditions.
Members of the University and College Union (UCU) are manning picket lines across the UK in protest at changes to pensions and pay cuts.
Goldsmiths lecturers will also be on strike for the second time this week.
Greenwich UCU branch chairman Richard Jump said: “Every cut damages and degrades the quality of education in the UK.
“The consequences of these attacks on job security and pay will be felt, not just by every UCU member, but by every person who seeks to benefit from higher education in the UK.
“We are protecting the future of our higher education system so that it can deliver a quality service that does not excluded the less privileged.”
