Sam Holmes and Max Freeman jailed for Bromley burglaries

At Croydon Crown Court Sam Holmes, of Queenscroft Road, Mottingham, was sentenced to three years in a young offenders instution.

He pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, three counts of driving whilst disqualified, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of going equipped for theft.

The 20-year-old admitted and asked for another 11 counts of burglary to be taken into consideration.

Further counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts of burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle were ordered to remain on file by the court.

Holmes was also disqualified from driving for three years.

Max Freeman, aged 18, was sentenced to 20 months at a young offenders institution by the same court.

He pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, one count of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of allowing himself to be carried in a motor vehicle taken without the owners consent.

Freeman, of Stenyning Grove, Mottingham, admitted and asked for another 44 counts of burglary to be taken into consideration.

Further counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped for theft were ordered to remain on file by the court.

The pair were caught after they were seen acting suspiciously in Eltham College car park.

After seeing officers from Bromley police’s CID they dropped a bag containing a chisel and other equipment before running off.

A police chase ensued and they were arrested on suspicion to commit burglary.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Andy Innes from Bromley police's CID said: "Freeman and Holmes were motivated by greed and gave no thought to the misery they caused others.

“The Bromley burglary team will continue to focus on those prolific offenders who bring disruption to the borough.

“This result should give a warning to others that we will investigate thoroughly these types of offences and target those responsible."

The pair were sentenced on March 16.
