PLANS are still on track to provide lift access at Bromley South station in time for the Olympic Games.
Bromley and Chislehurst MP Bob Neill has received written confirmation from Network Rail’s chief executive David Higgins that improvements will be in place by late spring next year.
Concerns were raised after reports received by Mr Neill suggested the work would not be completed in time.
In August last year News Shopper revealed Bromley South would have lifts installed before the Olympics.
Currently commuters can only get to the station’s four platforms via two flights of stairs.
Mr Neill said: “Residents have campaigned extremely hard to secure this outcome and it is excellent news that the improvement works are set to begin in the autumn.”
