REVELLERS wishing to celebrate the royal wedding and the Big Lunch will be given a helping hand by Lewisham Council.
Preparations are underway for the Royal Wedding on April 29 and the Big Lunch on June 5.
The council has received a total of 23 applications so far from people wanting to hold street parties on either day.
Last year 57 Big Lunches were held in Lewisham, which was the highest number in London.
If you want to join in the fun contact the events team for advice or attend a free information evening at the Town Hall in Catford on April 5 from 5pm to 8pm.
Council staff and previous Big Lunch organisers will be on hand to offer advice about everything from closing your road to how to decorate your street.
Deadlines for applying to close your road for a street party are - March 29 for the royal wedding and May 5 for the Big Lunch.
Cabinet member for community services, Councillor Chris Best, said: “Holding a street party is a great way to get to know your neighbours and revive community spirit.
“Lewisham is proud to be the number one borough in London for street parties and will continue to support residents wanting to take part.”
