VOLUNTARY lifeguards who give up their time to ensure the safety of a group of disabled children have been rewarded.
The lifeguards, from West Kent Lifeguards Club are on duty every week when children from Bexley Beavers Swimming Club for the Disabled, meet for their swimming sessions.
They were presented with framed photographs by Bexley’s mayor, Councillor Val Clark, president of the swimming club, at its annual meeting.
The meeting was held at Crook Log leisure centre in Bexleyheath where the club meets on Fridays from 6pm to 7.30pm.
