ONE lucky Lewisham Council tax payer could be in with a chance of winning £25,000.
Lewisham Council has teamed up with 14 others and Bacs, the not-for-proft group behind direct debit, to offer the prize.
Cabinet member for customer services Councillor Susan Wise says councils saved nearly £500,000 through the scheme last year.
She said: “Direct debit is a much cheaper way for us to process payments. And the money we save can be used for the benefit of residents.”
To enter, register to pay your council tax by direct debit before July 14.
Visit lewisham.gov.uk/counciltax or call 020 8690 9666 to register. Those who already pay by that method will be automatically entered.
This year’s winner will be drawn on July 19.
