LEWISHAM people aged from 40 to 74 can take advantage of a free health check-up this month.
The NHS Health Check is part of a national scheme to help prevent people developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes or kidney disease.
Invitation letters for the check have already started to be sent out and people will be invited once every five years.
The 20 to 30 minute check-up asks questions about family history and lifestyle. Patients’ blood pressure and cholesterol levels are measured before test results and advice are given out.
You can have your check at your GP surgery, at one of 11 participating pharmacies or by trained nurses and volunteers.
