BECKHAM and a Lewisham teenager have claimed top prize at this year’s dfs Crufts.
The 10-year-old Miniature Poodle proved every dog does have its day after scooping a top prize at the dog grooming competition.
His groomer, 17-year-old Christine Anderton of Burnt Ash Hill, Lewisham won the Young Kennel Club Groomer of the Year Award.
Beckham was among 21,500 healthy, happy dogs at the competition in Birmingham’s NEC arena.
Miss Anderton said: “Last year Beckham and I finished second so it is great to finally win. I’m just so pleased.
“He is getting on so this will be his last year of competition but he’s retiring on a high.”
