A MOTORIST managed to mangle their car this morning when they mounted a roundabout after crashing into a sign.
A navy blue Vauxhall Astra crashed into a memorial sign belonging to the Rotary Club of Penge before mounting the roundabout outside the Crooked Billet pub in Penge High Street at around 8.35am.
The sign burst through the bottom of the car and became wedged, leaving the back wheels suspended around a foot off the ground.
Nobody was injured during the incident, and a Bromley police spokesman said the driver had not been arrested.
He said: “Another car pulled out in front of the Vauxhall and the driver swerved to avoid it and mounted the pavement.”
The car was removed just after noon.
