HOLY Trinity School in Gravesend won the annual Fleet Cup on Tuesday after beating Hextable 1-0 in the final.

With an entry of 16 school teams and more than 150 girls and boys participating throughout the day, the contest proved to be an excellent day with some great football skills displayed and some fantastic games to watch.

The Fleet Cup forms a part of Ebbslfeet United’s community programme and is a series of annual tournaments for young players based on fair play and enjoyment.

Fleet’s community scheme has been set up to enthuse, stimulate and challenge children through football, as well as encouraging children to support Ebbsfleet United FC.

It is run by all sections of the club with key partners including Eurostar, Fleet Fives and the MyFootballClub owners.

Each school played seven matches in the group stages, ensuring all participants got a chance to shine.

The top four schools moved into semi finals, where Hextable went through 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw with St Johns and Holy Trinity beat The Gateway 2-1.

Player of the tournament for the boys was Rijmah Miah (Holy Trinity), while Taylor Ellis (The Gateway) took the honours for the girls.
