ELECTRIC car owners can now park up for free and recharge their vehicles at five locations in Greenwich.
Greenwich Council’s elektrobays have two charging points and can be used for up to four hours or for an unlimited time outside the permitted hours.
They are available in Greenwich at Blissett Street, Roan Street and Horseferry Place.
There is also an elektrobay in Messetter Place, Eltham and John Harrison Way, Greenwich Peninsula.
Vehicle owners need to fill in an application form to get their welcome pack, yellow charging cable and personalised access key to unlock the council’s elektrobays.
The council’s greener Greenwich cabinet member, Councillor Rajwant Sidhu, said: “Having these new charging points available in the borough helps lower carbon emissions and provides a more sustainable driving option for motorists.”
