A MOTORCYCLIST filmed doing wheelies on a motorway before riding off at speeds of nearly 150mph has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Danny Bleach, aged 37, from Coleman Road, Belvedere, was riding along a stretch of the busy coastbound M2 motorway between Strood and Chatham on November 7 last year.
But he was spotted by a PC on an unmarked police motorbike, and filmed by officers from Kent police’s central motorcycle unit performing two wheelies and riding at speeds of up to 149mph.
Last week he was sentenced at Medway Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to dangerous driving at an earlier hearing.
Bleach was also disqualified from driving for 18 months, ordered to take an extended driving test, complete 200 hours of community service and pay costs of pounds 85.
PC Chris King who was riding the unmarked police bike said: “This motorcyclist had a total disregard for the road and other riders.
“The consequences of Bleach’s riding could have been so much worse.”
