ANERLEY: Arson suspected cause of two fires overnight
ARSON is suspected after firefighters had to deal with two fires in the same Anerley street this morning (March 8).
The crews were called to Anerley Road at around 2am to tackle a blaze which completely destroyed an old style Mercedes.
Flames from the vehicle spread to the car alongside it and this was also damaged.
Within minutes of putting out the cars the crews were called to a rubbish fire about 50m down the road.
Police and the London Fire Brigade’s fire investigation team are now looking into the incidents.
