A MOTHER-OF-THREE has been jailed for giving her fiance a false alibi after he was arrested for the murder of his ex-wife.
Elizabeth Kilgallon, aged 29, lied to police and gave them a false statement to save her partner Adam Mann.
She was sentenced on Thursday (March 3) at the Old Bailey to two and a half years in prison after being found guilty of perverting the course of justice.
Kilgallon, from Welling, claimed 29-year-old Mann had been in bed with her at the time Lisa Beverley was murdered.
Mann was found guilty of the murder and jailed for life with a minimum term of 24 years in October last year.
Miss Beverley, aged 30, was beaten, hit with a hammer 25 times and stabbed in the neck at her home in Coupland Place, Plumstead, on September 16 2009.
The couple’s five-year-old son found her body the next morning and telephoned his grandparents.
