THE ‘Save Dave’ Campaign came to Lewisham yesterday to highlight health risks associated with excessive alcohol consumption.
Staff gave out information to the Daves of the community and any of his family and friends who were interested in finding out more about safer drinking.
It is estimated that around 29,000 people in the borough drink at levels that are harmful to their health.
Lewisham has one of the highest levels of alcohol-related hospital admissions in London.
Alcohol-related admissions to hospital can range from medical reasons, such as liver disease caused by long-term drinking, but many are for accidents caused whilst someone is drunk.
The aim of the ‘Save Dave’ campaign is to raise awareness about health risks related to excessive alcohol consumption and to let people know where they can go for free and confidential advice and help.
