POLICE have released the names of the victims of the Deptford tower block fire.
The two women, of Sri Lankan nationality, have been formally identified as Kunaliny Alagaratnam and Santhirapathy Tharmalingam.
Post-mortem examinations confirmed that both women died as a result of the fire which broke out at Marine Tower, on Friday (February 5).
Kunaliny, 42, was a resident of the Abinger Grove tower block and 59-year-old Santhirapathy had been visiting the UK from Sri Lanka.
Sandra Clarke, also an occupant of Marine Tower, has been charged with manslaughter and two counts of arson in relation to this incident.
The 49-year-old appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court today (February 7) via virtual link where she has been remanded to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on February 14.
