A YMCA sailing centre has been featured on the Royal Yachting Association website.
The centre, based at Southmere Lake in Thamesmead, provides accredited sailing training and leadership courses for young people.
Run by George Reynolds, the courses at the centre are so popular it was given eight new dinghies in May to meet the growing demand from young people.
The centre, which receives financial help from Trust Thamesmead and Bexley Council, teaches hundreds of young people every year. It also runs powerboat courses and sailing courses for adults.
A four-day course costs £16 for youngsters and £25 for adults.
The centre has developed a close relationship with Erith Yacht Club, which offers free memebrship to young people who have learned to sail with the centre.
